Mt Whitney Trail Junction - John Muir Trail
The Mt Whitney "Trail Junction" (with the John Muir Trail), roughly a quarter mile W over the ridge from Mt Whitney "Trail Crest" and a couple of very steep miles up the JMT from Guitar Lake. From here, the Mt Whitney Trail runs 2 miles in a rocky, twisting traverse N across the slope elow the Whitney Pinnacles to reach Mt Whitney proper.
